Upon hearing her name, Chinese diver Shi Tingmao set foot on top of the podium. He discreetly removed it and waited for the narrator to finish his presentation. Shi also won gold in synchronized diving from the springboard alongside Wang Han, defending the two titles he won five years ago in Rio de Janeiro.
Shi's best score was 78.00 in his last nailing, two and a half laps and a lap in front in the "c" position. He entered the water with barely splashing. As she left the pool, she covered her face with the towel to hide her tears.
