A man from Vista, California, was sentenced to 57 months in prison on September 19 for submitting false applications for unemployment benefits to the Employment Development Department of California.

According to a Sept. 22 news release, Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation that led to Darris Cotton's sentencing. Cotton resulted in a $312,640 loss.During the investigation, special agents seized $112,539 in currency and money orders from Cotton.
