A special lecture by Shenzhou-13 crew members for Earth students began on Thursday aboard the future Chinese orbital station module, Xinhua reported. After introducing their life and work aboard the space station, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu demonstrated some scientific experiments.

Crew members also scheduled a real-time question and answer session via video call, according to the Chinese Space Agency for Human Crew Flight (CMSA). The primary classroom is located at the China Museum of Science and Technology. Other classrooms online with astronauts are in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The three astronauts docked at the Chinese space station on October 16, during China's most extended human-crewed mission; the primary purpose is to build the space station

In June 2013, Chinese astronaut Wang Yaping, assisted by the other two members of the Shenzhou-10 crew, gave China's first live space lecture to 60 million students in the country.

The Shenzhou-13 mission will double the previous record-breaking Chinese human-crewed space mission set in September by astronauts who participated during the last Shenzhou-12 mission and have spent three months aboard the Tianhe module so far. The only one in Earth orbit of the three segments will make up the future space station.

Named Tiangong ("Celestial Palace"), the Chinese space station will be similar in size to the former Soviet MIR station (1986-2001) and will last at least ten years. @space.com.
