With about 100,000 cars delivered in 2021, Dacia stands at the top in the rating of new car sales to French individuals. It has even surpassed the domestic brands Renault, Peugeot, or Citroen.

In 2021, Dacia sold the French more new cars for the first time than any other manufacturer. Thus, until December 20, 99,698 vehicles were sold, according to data provided by Autoways and quoted by BFMTV. Renault came in second, selling 91,246 cars, followed by Peugeot with 87,524 units. Citroen is far behind, with 51,972 registrations.

"This performance allows the Romanian manufacturer to take over 14.4% of the market share for individuals in the first 11 months of the year. According to the data provided by AAA Data, Renault registered a market share of 13.6%, and Peugeot 13.3% ", states the French publication. The retail market accounts for 44% of new car sales this year in France, with the remainder mainly between the purchase of vehicles by companies and short-term and long-term rental services.

Dacia Sandero ranked first in the ranking of sales to individuals in 2017. In 2020, Dacia Sandero was already "the favorite car of the French," but other models are popular. The Dacia Duster SUV remains in the top 10 of the best sales of the year, competing in volume with Renault Captur, among the most popular models of the French. Dacia Spring, Dacia's first 100% electric car, also had a promising commercial start, with almost nine thousand sales this year.

However, the French car market in 2021 is still dominated by Peugeot, Renault and Citroen, followed only in fourth place by Dacia.
